Dr Claire Cox (f) BSc MB ChB (Bristol)DRCOG MRCGP MSc (distinction) FRCGP Year of registration 1985 I joined the Swan Surgery in 1990 as a part-time partner and I have thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and delights of general practice over the years. My special interest is medical education. In 1993 I was approved as a Trainer for the GP Registrars who train at the Swan Surgery. In 2000 I took a one-year sabbatical to study for an MSc in Advanced Professional Development at Portsmouth University. Subsequently, I was appointed a programme director for GP Registrars in the Portsmouth area, and teach on their day-release course every Wednesday. I am also an appraiser of GPs for Wessex Deanery. In 2012 I was appointed Associate Dean for GP Education for Portsmouth, IOW & South East Hampshire. |
Dr Andrew Holden (m) MBBS DRCOG DFFP MRCGP Year of Registration 1988 London I joined the Surgery in 1994 where I enjoy working as an established partner. I am keen to offer a personal and continuing care approach to general practice whilst enjoying the advantages of working in a large multi-disciplinary team. My clinical interests are cardiology (I used to be a clinical assistant in the Heart & Lung Unit in Portsmouth) and prescribing issues in General Practice. I sit on the executive board of East Hampshire Practice Based Commissioning Group as a GP representative and I am a representative on the Local Medical Committee. I am very keen to promote the Petersfield Community Hospital and have been involved with The Friends of the Hospital. |
Dr Stephen Buckley (m) BMedSci MBBS FPCert DRCOG MRCGP Year of registration 1988 Nottingham After qualifying from Nottingham University Medical School, I undertook my general practice training in The Portsmouth Hospitals. I then worked in Australia for a year before joining the surgery as a full-time partner in 1994. In 1999, following a period of further education, I was approved as a trainer for aspiring GP's and I continue to supervise GP registrars. During my time at the surgery, I have enjoyed all aspects of general practice, but developed an interest in child health and dermatology. I teach and am GP lead on the Hampshire Child Health Surveillance course. I also work as a clinical assistant in the dermatology department for the Portsmouth Hospitals Trust. |
Dr Guy Cunliffe (m) MBChB DRCOG DFFP DCH MRCGP Year of registration 1995 Edinburgh I joined the Swan Surgery in July 2001 as a full-time partner, having worked previously as a locum at the practice. I enjoy all aspects of general practice and, in particular, being a family doctor. I have roles in the practice in respiratory medicine and prescribing issues and for the training of 'F2' doctors within the practice. I am the school doctor at Dunhurst School and lead GP looking after Stroud House Residential Home. |
Dr Fiona Jacklin (f) MBBS DA DRCOG Dip Paeds (N2) DFFP MRCGP Year of registration 1991 London, I joined the Swan Surgery in November 2001 as a part-time partner. I have a special interest in women's health and family planning. I also have gained palliative care experience, working in one of the local hospices. Until I started my family, I was actively involved in training junior doctors to be GPs, in the Portsmouth area and, in the future, I intend to become a GP trainer in order to continue my interest in medical education. |
Dr Cathryn Bush (f) MBSS BSC DFFP MRCGP Year of registration 1993 London I trained at the Royal Free Hospital in London and qualified in 1993. Subsequently I worked in London, Guildford, Winchester and Norfolk before returning to this area. I was very pleased to join the Swan Surgery as a part time partner in July 2006. I enjoy all aspects of General Practice and have a special interest in Family Planning as well as a clinical responsibility for Diabetes within the practice. |
Dr Fiona Mitford (f) Employed GP MB MRCGP DFFP I trained at Southampton qualifying in 1995 and subsequently worked in general medicine, oncology, palliative care and women's health. I am particularly interested in women's health and palliative care. I joined the practice in 2006 after moving from Poole to this area. |
Dr Ericka Good (f) MBChb DCH MRCGP Year of Registration 2002 Bristol I trained at Bristol University and qualified in 2002. Following this I worked in Devon for 5 years and completed my GP training in March 2007 moving to this area in September 2008. I have worked as a Locum here since December 2008 and as of 1/9/10 I am now an Associate GP following Dr Ellis's retirement working 3 days a week. I enjoy all aspects of general practice and have a special interest in Child Health. |
